What makes one a valued mystery shopper? Often times, it is not as complicated as it seems. I have dealt with shoppers who in their emails, as their signature, include comments from other companies about why they are such a wonderful s

hopper. I’ve also had shoppers who go out and train other people to mystery shop because they obviously are doing something right.If you are often feeling like you could step up your mystery shopping game, here are some tips and tricks to improving your input and communication as a mystery shopper.

  1. Always communicate with the scheduler

As a scheduler myself, this is extremely important! Always be communicating your plans with the person you are supposed to report to. It is very considerate and will make their jobs, and yours, easier as well. When you do not communicate with the scheduler, it leaves them without any way to communicate what is going on with the stores that they serve.

  1. Do shops when you say you are going to do them

And if you can’t do them when you planned on doing them, let the scheduler know ASAP. Improving yourself as a mystery shopper means that you are truly able to manage your time. Mystery shopping is great because it is easy to fit into your schedule, but when you fit it into your schedule you have to keep it there. The companies you are scheduled to work for are counting on you to get the job done. They have completely trust in the fact that what you say lines up with what you do.

  1. Do not be afraid to ask questions

The best shoppers, just like students, are constantly asking questions. By asking questions, you are keeping communication with the shopper and ensuring that you know exactly what is expected of you. Improvement comes through asking questions and applying the answers.

These three aspects will help you to become the mystery shopper which you want to become.
